My husband: the wannabe repair man

When something needs fixing around the house, I’ll try to do it myself or call my brother to do it. My husband means well and loves to get his hands dirty with projects. But once he starts something, he finds something else that needs to be fixed before finishing the original repair project and starts work on the new one.

It’s gotten so bad lately that I’ve actually taken to hiding his power tools when he’s not paying attention. So when a stray basketball from our neighbor’s teenage son broke one of the windows to our front room, I told my husband that we were not going to call a professional to fix or replace the window and he wasn’t allowed to mess with it.

He wasn’t happy about that but ended up agreeing with me and we searched for SEARS replace window online. The neighbor offered to pay for it and I actually obliged them since it was their son’s fault.

Now I don’t have to worry about the draft of hot air sucking out all our air conditioning and I have a nice-looking, clean window on the front of our house.

Watching Surfing on TV in the Summer

One of my favorite summer hobbies is watching surfing programs on my satellite tv. There are always surfing competitions going on during the summer. Some of my favorite competitions are the Gotcha Pro, Billabong Pro, Hurley US Open, Mountain Dew Pipe Masters, and Mavericks Quicksilver Contest. These surfing competitions always feature the latest surfers making an edgy mark on the world of surfing.

My dream has always been to go surfing one day. As someone growing up in the Midwest, I never had the chance to “hit the waves” at a local beach. Oh, how I wish this could have been my life! Instead, watching surfing competitions is a way for me to live vicariously in the awesome lives of surfers. Watching these surfing programs has actually had a great influence on my life, since I will be moving to Florida next year. It is incredible to see the impact that our favorite television shows can have on our life choices.

Some of my all-time favorite surfers are Kelly Slater, Laird Hamilton, Andy Irons, and Dave Kalama. These guys know how to surf and they take the sport with a very serious attitude. Surfing is not just about a laid back attitude to life. Instead, I have learned that it takes hard work for top surfers to reach their success in this sport. Watching surfing competitions on television has shown me that surfing is all about having a determined attitude.

Using The Internet

Senior citizens are now being offered classes at the local community centers around the country in order to learn how to navigate their way around a computer. This is a very good idea because in today’s society everyone needs to learn how to use a computer. The computer will come in handy for senior citizen for a lot more than looking at the variety of hearing aids are available on the market.

A senior citizen can actually use the computer to just keep in contact with their family. E-mail is the greatest thing that was ever invented for senior citizen to use. With e-mail a senior citizen is able to stay in contact with their family. They can just sign onto the Internet and go straight to their e-mail. They will be very excited to receive notes from their grandchildren.

Another good thing about the Internet for senior citizen is that this will allow them to be able to see pictures of family members when they live far away. They can sign onto Facebook and see their loved ones. As a matter of fact having a Facebook account is actually a very good idea because not only will it allow them to speak with their family members from time to time, they will also be able to stay in touch with all of their friends.

They can also use the Internet to order their medicine that they need. Sometimes it is a hassle trying to go out and place an order for your medication. By knowing how to do online, they will just simply have to sign onto the website for the drug store and place the order for their prescription.
